"Fuck The Pain Away" plays during a flashback showing the stark contrast between June's life of freedom before Gilead and her oppressive reality as a Handmaid. The song's provocative and uninhibited nature highlights the personal freedoms that women lost under the new regime. 

The Handmaid's Tale is an American dystopian drama web television series created by Bruce Miller, based on the 1985 novel of the same name by Margaret Atwood.
