CRITICAL JOY

Vienna’s Impulz Dance Festival, Summer 2016. Starting from the workshop Critical Joy co-led by Keith Hennessy and Peaches, with an international collaborative of dance and performance artists, a series of performances were created in close encounter with painting, sculpture, dance, pop and their hybrids.

The performance occurred as two linked events: a series of museum performances staged throughout Vienna’s contemporary art museum Mumok; and a free concert on a massive outdoor stage in the Museum’s Quartier, witnessed by 3000 people and featuring songs and performance actions by Peaches, Hennessy, and the collaborating workshop artists.

The event concluded in a joyous DJ set by Bhenji Ra & Casper-Malte Augusta.
